Fundamental Skills - Balance

Every week on Friday we have Fundamental Skills with Mrs McQuillian.  We are learning how to use balance and coordination as we move around.
This week we played two games.  One we had to throw a dice and however many spots on the dice there were we had to use that many body parts to balance on the ground.  The second game we had to put beanbags on our heads and walk or run to the other side of the court without getting tagged by the 'Hoppers' or letting the beanbag fall off.

GET Ready, GET Through!

Our challenge this week was to use some newspaper and rubber bands and we had to make a raft to rescue a lego dog from an island.
Our raft had to fit in the sink and it had to float.
Here are the rafts that we made in pairs.

Welcome to Saint Paul's School!

This week we walked down to the church for a Powhiri to welcome the new students to our school.  We have one of those new students in our class.  Her name is Jordyn-Leigh.  Here is some things we found out about her:

Her favorite color is: PINK
Her favorite food is: Ice-cream
She doesn't have any brothers or sisters.
She has lots of pets because she lives on a farm.

WELCOME TO OUR CLASS AND SCHOOL JORDYN-LEIGH!

Worker bees are clever
When they need a home
They just build a...
HONEYCOMB!
Katie's reading group read a book about bees and how they make honey called 'The Honey Makers'.  Then her Nana's friend sent a real honeycomb to school for us to look at, smell and taste! It was SWEET and DELICIOUS!
